Future of Freedom Consultation

In November 2019, Imece Network attended the “Future of Freedom Consultation” held by Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF), in Kiev and visited some of the successful social enterprises like “Urban Space 500” and the Burning Man Community’s “Kurenivka Palace”.

Future of Freedom Consultation was held to gather and exchange creative, innovative ideas for the promotion of freedom and democracy with partners from the region of East and Southeast Europe. Representing our association, Ozkan Uzelli contributed to innovate the promotion of freedom through civic education, training, and dialogue approaches. We are proud and happy to have been a part of this peculiar and educational experience.

Youth Exchange “RESOLVE: Play”

Imece Network participated to the Erasmus+ “RESOLVE: Play” programme, organised by Asfar, a dynamic international NGO and social enterprise.

RESOLVE is a reconciliation youth exchange & network programme, which aims to use the power of Conflict Resolution tools such as Theatre, Simulation Games, Sport for peace and wider reconciliation tools and learning to resolve local and community level conflicts which especially affects young people today.

The youth exchange reunited 7 groups of young people from 7 countries and took place in October 2019 at London. Thanks to Imece Network; Mert Biçer, Aysun Molla and Ege Şentürk had the opportunity to represent the Turkey Youth Community in United Kingdom.

Training Course “RISE”

Irem and Ebru participated to Training Course “RISE” in Valencia / Spain.

RISE “Resources for improving Social Inclusion and Equality – based on applied entrepreneurial competences” was a 5-day long youth workers mobility Training Course by Emprende Empleo.

The TC was carried out in Puerto de Sagunto, small municipality in east coast Spain, with one of the most beautiful beaches from Valencia region and 20 kilometers far from Valencia city center.

A group of 25 participants from 10 countries worked on the topics of social inclusion, equality and diversity, by developing and applying into action a set of entrepreneurial competences (Entrecomp and Digcomp) in the context of non-formal education.

project preparation and cooperation workshop

As İmece Network, we participated in the “women” themed project preparation and cooperation workshop held on 22-26 July in Istanbul within the scope of ”Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services for Public-CSO Cooperation Project”. The workshop was organized to increase cooperation among different NGOs working in the same field, to prepare non-governmental organizations in the preparation of grant proposals and to conduct non-governmental organizations. Working groups were formed in the fields of education, psychosocial support, employment and refugees. The groups were asked to form a project, and practical training was given. Target analysis, strategy analysis, activity planning, time planning, grant management, contracts, budget preparation, monitoring of grant programs were discussed.

Istanbul Innovation Days 2018

Imece network attended Istanbul Innovation Days (IID) hosted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the three-day event kicked off 27th of November and under the theme of Next Generation Governments.

The experts were discussing several topics such as policy making, technology and governance, technology’s effects on the economy, future challenges and innovation experiments.

The organization hosted over 250 people including strategic funders, governments, start-ups, thinkers, civil society, and international organizations.

Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, UNDP’s assistant administrator, said: “Today, science and technology increasingly affecting more with governance and politics.” Our volunteer Oguzhan Demir asked a question related to this topic to Alexandre Polvora who works on European Commission and a researcher. The question was “Can the policy change catch the speed of technology change.” He answered as “The policy change will always try to catch the technology change till we automated them”.

Imece Network have gained new contacts from Europe to local organizations. We are glad to be hosted by UNDP and our cooperation will continue thorough internationally.

Sarajevo Youth Exchange is Over

Imece Network was represented by 7 Turkish participants in Sarajevo / BiH.

Erasmus+ RESOLVE: East programme develops the skills of 18 to 30 year olds from UK, Turkey, Bosnia & Herzagovina and Georgia in reconciliation activities, leadership, peacebuilding, network management and intercultural communication to become the future leaders of tomorrow, while connected with peers from other cultures and countries.
