As being Imece Network participated in SociALL Up “Social Awareness Festival” organized by IU Entrepreneurship Club in IPA Florya Campus.
Among the 20 others, Imece Network was the only organization dealing with Erasmus + programs.
We could share all the projects our participants joined, new friends that they made and interesting things they learned. The event lasted till the late evening hours when we finished our gathering with a concert that completed the whole day of fun that we had!
Our NGO’s stand at the LCOY in IPA Florya Campus was a tremendous success. We showcased our ongoing projects and future initiatives to a diverse and enthusiastic crowd. The stand was creatively decorated with informative posters, brochures, and drawing considerable attention from the attendees.
We also organized short presentations to highlight our impact and encourage volunteer participation. Many attendees expressed interest in joining our upcoming events. The atmosphere was lively, with meaningful conversations about community development and social responsibility. Our social media coverage of the event garnered significant engagement, spreading awareness beyond the campus.
Overall, the stand was a valuable opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and strengthen our network. We are grateful for the support and excited to build on this momentum for our future endeavors.
The National Youth Conference (LCOY) is an event where young people discuss environmental and sustainability issues and is linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These conferences provide young people with opportunities to collaborate on sustainability issues and make their voices heard, serving as a preparation for the global Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings. LCOY Turkey is organized by İklim Öncüleri and is the largest and most comprehensive conference in this field and presents its reports on international platforms.
Our volunteer – Rumeysa took part in the training in Fethiye Oludeniz. The main goal of the project is to increase dialogue between public institutions and youth organizations at the national and international levels.
The first part of the training took place between 1st and 7th August. A group of young people gathered together to discuss the importance of youth organizations, their role in the country and cooperation with public institutions. The training was given by GoFor – Youth Organizations Forum in Turkey.
“We learnt about public resources and EU funds that we can use in this programme in the days of public resources and civil society relationship, as well as EU funds, being international public resource”, says Rumeysa. It is worth nothing that according to the Mapping and Needs Analysis Report of Youth Organizations in Turkey, prepared in 2021 by GoFor, of which we are one of the member associations, 6 out of 10 youth organizations find their cooperation with public institutions almost non-existent or insufficient.
During the training, participant had a chance to learn also about legislation for civil society. “I think we will better understand that in the second part of the project, which will take place in Ankara”, adds Rumeysa.
We participated a project called “Plurale Meditarenao” (literally “Mediterranean Plural”), which aims at promoting dialogue among Mediterranean countries.
The main aims of the project were the followings:
1- To create an illustrated book including 10 essays on a variety of subjects shared by all the Mediterranean countries, ranging from cultural features to biodiversity.
2- To make 2022 calendar featuring the national, religious and popular holidays of all the Mediterranean countries.
The contributions of Imece Network to the project were:
Promotion of a culture of Peace and dialogue between the countries of the Mediterranean Area.
Search and suggest festivity proposals to contribute to the 2022 calendar featuring the national, religious and popular holidays of all the Mediterranean countries.
Work in the field of peace education, using the editorial projects included in the project.
As İmece Network, we participated in the “women” themed project preparation and cooperation workshop held on 22-26 July in Istanbul within the scope of ”Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services for Public-CSO Cooperation Project”. The workshop was organized to increase cooperation among different NGOs working in the same field, to prepare non-governmental organizations in the preparation of grant proposals and to conduct non-governmental organizations. Working groups were formed in the fields of education, psychosocial support, employment and refugees. The groups were asked to form a project, and practical training was given. Target analysis, strategy analysis, activity planning, time planning, grant management, contracts, budget preparation, monitoring of grant programs were discussed.
In the frame of Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services for Public-CSO Cooperation; 3rd tour of trainings in Istanbul is over. In the training we worked on strategic plan, good governance – cooperation with local authorities, and legal context of NGOs.
Today we are very happy to announce that with a successful application our “imece network” has been officially launched on 25 April 2018 in Istanbul/TR.
After long discussions a group of youth workers and volunteers have decided to build the first international youth organisation of Turkey acting in European level.
